Hair today, gone tomorrow but not in vain, Maria would like to see her hair donated to a good cause. This beautiful head of hair will all be gone on March 17. Maria Kitjapanon, a local lawyer, is participating in the Leukaemia Foundation’s “World’s Greatest Shave”. www.worldsgreatestshave.com
‘I figure that a head of hair like mine could perhaps inspire people to donate a lot of money to this great cause. I’d also like to donate the hair to a charity or business which makes real hair wigs for people who have lost their hair due to illness. Any assistance in finding a worthy recipient for the hair would be appreciated!
‘Every day, 35 Australians will be given the devastating news that they have blood cancer and they’ll turn to the Leukaemia Foundation for help.
I don’t think I know anybody affected by Leukaemia, but I have had family members affected by cancer and who lost hair in varying degrees. I also know someone who suffers from alopecia, so hair loss is something I am acutely aware of.
‘I have done events or raised funds for charities etc. since I was a child. I think I started regularly undertaking the “40 hour famine: World Vision Australia”. www.40hourfamine.com.au
Most recently, my teenage daughters and I have participated in “@Live Below the Line – Oaktree” where you eat on $2 a day for 5 days.
This is run by Oaktree, Australia’s largest youth organisation who money raise to end poverty. www.livebelowtheline.com.au

I will be going from “Legal Eagle” to “Bald (Legal) Eagle”.’
I met Maria at BNI Network Connections – Business Networking Geelong and I admired her undertaking the ‘World’s Greatest Shave’.
