Help the homeless – Humans in Geelong are sleeping out at the St Vinnie’s CEO Sleepout Geelong at GMHBA stadium on Thursday June 28th to raise money for our local homeless people. You can help by donating to the Humans in Geelong Team sponsorship page at https://www.ceosleepout.org.au/fundraisers/humansingeelong Every little bit helps. Bec Picone, Jacqui Bennett and Brandon Dellow will brave the cold to raise funds to help our local homeless.

St Vincent de Paul Society’s goal is to expose the true experiences of locals who are experiencing poverty. The truth and hard facts behind the experiences of locals who can’t afford the basics – food, education, utilities and even a place to call home. Poverty is breaking hearts on our watch, on our home soil and we need the community’s help.

Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. There are many homeless here in Geelong. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This year Humans in Geelong are taking part in the Vinnies Team Sleepout to raise awareness and money to support locals in need. For one night, we’ll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.

To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, we need your support. Will you help Humans in Geelong raise money for the homeless? Donating even a small amount will help the people who need it most.

I met Damien Bernasconi, St Vincent de Paul Society’s Development Officer today and he told me the Geelong Sleepout will be the first in Regional Victoria. Last year, in the Geelong region alone, St Vinnie’s put $360K into empowerment programs for the homeless and those in need, they made over 5,200 home visits and invested $80K into educational programs.

As of the time of posting this, 47 CEOs have raised over $24,000 already thanks to 189 supporters.

Come on Geelong and region, let’s get behind this great initiative!
