‘You should see the look on their little faces!’ PCs for Kids.- Computers for children in need, saving the planet, work for the dole and upskilling opportunities. Donate your old computers now! How does it work? Your old laptop or computer gets wiped with the hard drive being shredded clean, then it is dismantled, reconditioned and rebuilt. It may take six computers to rebuild one, with about 150 computers going to new homes each year.
A basic suite of software is installed then it is distributed to kids or families in need (nominated by social services or schools). If it’s beyond repair it’s used for its parts. What can’t be reused is resold or recycled, so there is less that goes to landfill, providing us with a safer, healthier environment.
Very cheap repair and/or virus clean up service also available.
A not-for-profit organisation staffed by volunteers, with a few work for the dole positions where participants gain hands on experience and skills which may help them in the future.
Interested in helping? Besides donating old computers, volunteers are always needed as drivers, or to help with admin, dismantling and recycling. Thanks PCs for Kids, keep up the good work!
