Climate Change – It’s time to make a stand! Geelong students stand up for action on Climate Change. They are standing outside Labor member of Parliament Richard Marles’s office in Yarra Street tomorrow, Friday 23 November from 9 – 12 and all are welcome to join them. PLEASE SHARE!
Laura Kelly 16, and Jude Corbet O’Rourke 17, from Kardinia College have organised tomorrow’s Climate Strike. They want to see politicians taking more action on Climate Change and treating it like the emergency that it is.
This follows the call to action from students from Castlemaine. This global movement was inspired by Greta Thunberg of Sweden who started a #climatestrike #schoolstrike by sitting outside the Parliament in Sweden. She was invited to stand outside the Parliament House UK by the @extinctionrebillion
The Castlemaine kids tell us “The biggest day for walking out of school will be Friday 30th November, when we hope lots of kids will join us at the steps of Parliament House in Melbourne at midday.” There will be a group attending from Geelong. We are catching the 10.04 train from South Geelong, All Welcome!
Be part of the change! More info @school strike for climate https://www.facebook.com/events/738154029894851/ They state “Bring banners and posters! There will be speeches, music and hopefully we can meet with Richard Marles to discuss climate change, and actions the politicians can take to strive for a healthier future. It will be a great day for such an important issue. Bring your friends and share the word!
“Looking forward to it – hope to see you there 🌏💚
WHEN: 9am, 23rd November
WHERE: Outside our Federal MP Richard Marles’ Office, 17A Yarra St, Geelong”
